Fixing failed SMP

At Your Scalp Pigmentation clinic we can also take care of your previous SMP treatment that was unsuccessful or unsatisfactory for you with other clinic.

We provide two options to repair your SMP:

1) If the defected area has space to work with, we are able to:

– reshape and restore bad front hairlines
– reconstruct densities within the damaged area, by fading around previous dots using combination of pigment shades and hand pressure.

2) However if there is no space for blending near the previous SMP because of the excessive density, pigment merges or visible discolouration, then Laser ( SMP removal treatment ) will be proposed to you as the first step. After that (at least 8 weeks healing ) we will be able to re-apply professional SMP treatment for you.

Most common SMP mistakes:

1) Too high density – laser (SMP removal treatment ) needs to be applied first.
2) Pigment migration – laser (SMP removal treatment ) needs to be applied first.
3) Shapeless front hairline – correction achievable.
4) Poor fading with existing hair- correction achievable.
5) Too low density – correction achievable.
6) Too fast fading ( caused by too shallow pigment application or inaccurate pigment dilution ) – correction achievable.

Photos below show example of my client’s whose SMP was poorly done with other clinic.Pigment, consistency, shape of the front hairline, SMP depth and weak blending – all of this indicates that the treatment went completely wrong. After a close diagnosis I decided that his treatment can be re applied. I have managed to blend in between the old SMP, reshape the hairline and nicely fade it with his existing hair.
